C. Marie Hernandez Ware, on being a preceptor
“My favorite thing about being a preceptor is helping to bridge theoretical learning to real-world practice to help future Nurse Practitioner's build confidence to give quality health care safely. It's an honor to be a facet in their journey to becoming clinically strong, autonomous providers.
I'm motivated to build up my profession, to have confident and safe health professionals to provide more access to mental health and primary care.
I graduated from ÅÝܽÊÓƵ's Kramer school of Nursing in 2003, so I like being able to give back, to reflect the excellence and first-rate education that I received as a nursing student. Now that I'm on the other side, I completely understand the challenging material, vigorous clinical hours, and expected level of competence that go in to preparing and teaching NPs. The students who have chosen this school and program will have a superior foundation of learning and I'm proud to aid in their journey.â€
Words of wisdom from C. Marie Hernandez Ware
“Excellence does not equal perfection, don't get stuck on perfection. You are highly educated, motivated, and organized where much of the system is not. Learn to adapt and use your resources so that you can achieve excellence in healthcare delivery. Best wishes to you all on your educational journey.â€
