Biography

Praised by Strad magazine as “a romantic virtuoso with sparkling and brilliant tone and clarity of gesture,” Bulgarian violinist Chavdar Parashkevov has appeared frequently as a soloist and recitalist across Europe, the United States, and Asia. Recent performances include chamber music appearances at the Round Top Festival Institute, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts concert series, and the Cypress Creek FACE Foundation.

A prizewinner at several national and international competitions, Parashkevov has also released four recordings, most recently Brahms and Shostakovich – Piano Trios (2021).

He holds advanced degrees from Southern Methodist University and the University of Houston, and studied with Peter Hristoskov, Andrzej Grabiec, and other distinguished mentors.

In addition to performing regularly with the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet orchestras, Parashkevov has been on faculty at the Round Top Festival Institute since 2022. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Violin at ܽƵ.
